If we promote a product or service, it’s because we love it and know it’s a good fit for our travel and local living space. By doing these sponsorships it keeps the blog running and makes the hours spent blogging worth it monetarily.
AFFILIATES
I also occasionally use affiliate links to share where I did buy something. This means if you love where we got that suitcase, and click on the link and end up buying something, we’ll make a small commission on the sale. This source of income definitely helps keep the blog going. Affiliate links are not sponsored, and we’re not being urged to highlight affiliated products. All of the products I share are things we truly love – some will be affiliated, and some won’t be.
BLOGGING FOR A LIVING
Luckily, I earn a living as a blogger. It’s a job that I love because I can’t help but share everything I know about the areas we live and play in.
I earn money blogging in the following ways:
1. Ads
The ads you see on https://vatraveltips.com are managed by Mediavine ads. These appear in my blog sidebar, header and footer and in posts on my site. These are images that clearly look like advertisements. If you ever see one that isn’t on brand- please screenshot and email it to me. I DO NOT want anything spammy or inappropriate. We are super selective about ad categories we allow on the blog.
2. Affiliate links
Most of my posts are DIY or travel related projects. When applicable, I show products I recommend by linking to those items on affiliate sites through Amazon, ShopStyle or affiliate programs I reached out to. (See the full section above on affiliates & brands).
3. Sponsored Posts
Additionally, I sometimes reach out to companies for a sponsored post opportunity. I can be compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics.
Even though I receive compensation for posts or advertisements, I always give my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products.
